Suzuki say their 125 has the best power-to-weight ratio, torque-to-weight ratio, acceleration, handling and fuel economy in the 125 class.

If you were hoping for something to out-style an RS4 125, or to out-spec the YZF-R125, then you might be marginally disappointed, but stick with it. Suzuki tell us that their latest addition to the family is going to perform as well, if not better, than everything else in the class – and it’ll do it at a lower price point. Without having ridden it, or been told the price, that’s a little hard to quantify right now – so let’s concentrate on the offering. Suzuki say their 125 has the best power-to-weight ratio, torque-to-weight ratio, acceleration, handling and fuel economy in the 125 class. There are some nice touches, too. Yes, the bodywork is sportily GSX-R-like, the face wears an LED headlamp, and it is small and low-seated enough to appeal to a wide range of humans – but it also gets a multi-function all-LCD dash, and teenager-pleasing keyless ignition. That’s pretty trick for a 125. It does look a little delicate in places, not least the arcane-looking spindly conventional fork, solid mounted disc and simple caliper. But the cast aluminium wheels look great, and are fitted with decent tyre sizes of 90/80 R17 front and 130/70 R17 rear. There’ll be a bit of a wait for the ride though, as it won’t be available until Summer 2017, when you can choose between blue, black or white.
